Description
together with architectural office Ernst Roth
The aim of this project was to give the village of St. Martin am Techelsberg a ācentreā and thus also the community of Techelsberg am Wƶrther See a localised identity.Ā
This new building functions as a space-forming element in the village, with visual relationships to its church, rectory, chaplaincy and pub.
The new community center creates a clearly defined open space, the central, scaled square, as the local identity of the local area.
The assembly hall is designed as a ālandmarkā in the middle of the structural ensemble and is oriented towards the square and in view of the southeastern landscape area. Through This connection accentuates the identity-forming elements of the place. The village square with the lime tree and the viewing platform in the south forms a multifunctional, continuous open space.
All essential functions are located on the square level, while partial areas are accommodated in the basement. The buildingās interior areas are closely interlocked with the exterior areas of the square, thus creating flowing transitions. The village square āmergesā with the foyer, Citizensā Service and communication areas. The multi-purpose hall can be opened generously towards the square as an extended spectator area.Ā
The new community centre positions itself self-confidently in this strongly contoured local place. In dialogue with its historical, evolved environment, a clearly defined village centre is being formed.
The community hall is a visible ālandmarkā, while the administrative areas with their extensive roof greenery recede into the background.
