Around 100 experts from politics, administration, planning and civil society worked on the creation of the Baukulturellen Leitlinien des Landes Kärnten, which were published in 2020. The essential cornerstones are the sustainable use of land, alternative, space-saving forms of housing, enabling a daily life of short distances, strengthening the village and town centers, and the careful use of historic buildings and the landscape.

The building cultural guidelines of the province of Carinthia were presented on 22. 06. 2021 by representatives of the federal government and the province in the Architekturhaus Kärnten. They are the concretization and focus of the federal guidelines. Carinthia recognizes the social and future importance of building culture and is the first federal province to implement the building culture guidelines adopted by the federal government.
