Description
This addition to a residential house on the lake plays with the topography and nestles over a total of 3 floors into the steep slope that runs from south to north down to the lake.
Facing the lake, it creates 3 fully glazed living levels, in the center of which the kitchen is enthroned like the command bridge of a ship.
The projections and recesses lend the extension a feeling of lightness, creating roofed outside areas and also making each of the 3 storeys stand out visually.
The facade is covered with opaque white glass panels, contrasting in places with high-gloss, black glass elements.
The orientation of a house on the lake usually follows the view relations to the lake. If north-facing facades to the lake seem unfavorable at first glance, they play to their full strengths in the summer. No shading devices are necessary and there is no overheating. In this context, north-facing facades are ideal for completely glazed facades.
The lake becomes the main protagonist.
