A SALES CONTAINER WITH A VIEW ON FREE-RANGE CHICKENS
We live in a digital world where fewer and fewer impressions come from the real world. Perceptions increasingly take place completely detached from the object, from place and time. Prepared images, detached from context, move between our perception and reality. What we‘re recording is not what‘s there.
The marketing of agricultural products in supermarkets operates through images that have little in common with the actual conditions of production.
The sales container for farm products conceived by spado is an attempt at an architectural answer.
Located at the food production site, it creates a direct connection between farmers and customers. The production of food is made transparent and the products are embedded in their true context.
A recycled shipping container is the shell, glazing creates transparency. Walls, floor and ceiling are made of native larch. The container can be loaded and used elsewhere. The customer serves himself at all times.
