Description

Task was to create a textile canopy for different celebrations and events. Fine weather allows to open the roof. The roof cannot be built up and removed each year. The costs would be too high (requiring much work, storage, repairs,…). A special construction for winter was therefore requested. Making concerts the storage area should be closed by a special textile weather protection. 

The roof construction which can be opened shows the principle of a crane. The main girders are moved along the lengthways beams. The whole construction works with motor-drive.When the construction is closed, the textile tent is protected by a special kind of roof which is in the same way protection during winter. The form of the tent (form of a sail) permits a soft drain pipe of water, which is collected by a gutter.

For events cables (for electricity, water, waste water, …) should be considered. The tent construction fits in the park-area in a self-confident and at the same time moderate way. The tent construction reacts to the quality of town and creates an open space for open air events and celebrations.
